Advocacy, Education, Networking, and Marketing
TTIA and its members have been a positive force in helping to acquire sufficient funding for tourism marketing and visitor services in state government. In order to maintain funding and ensure that dollars are wisely spent, TTIA monitors legislative activities and informs the membership when action is required. Additionally, TTIA works with local communities to assist them in securing tourism support. TTIA acts in cooperation with other travel entities in the state to develop awareness of the benefits of travel and tourism and to keep the industry healthy.
Texas Tourism Unity Dinner
The Annual Texas Tourism Unity Dinner provides the travel industry the opportunity to show strength in numbers. Celebrating the importance of travel and tourism as a major growth segment of the economy, the Unity Dinner furnishes members with the opportunity to interact with elected officials and other major players in the industry. Held in Austin, the event recognizes the importance of the legislative process in achieving our goals.
Education and Networking
Texas Travel Summit
Held each September, Texas Travel Summit is TTIA's annual educational and networking conference. More than 400 delegates from the Texas travel industry convene to learn from state and national authorities on the latest trends and innovations in travel and tourism, discuss issues and ideas of importance to the industry, and network with other industry professionals.
Travel & Tourism College
Travel & Tourism College is an intensive, week-long curriculum of travel & tourism marketing, management, and leadership courses held each summer. This is designed as a 3-year Certification program, with returning students taking 2nd and 3rd year classes. Travel & Tourism College (TTC) instructors are university professors and industry CEOs who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. The schedule is packed from start to finish with classes, discussion groups and networking events. Upon successful completion of the 3-year program and a capstone project, graduates will receive the designation of "Certified Tourism Executive" (CTE).

- "See Texas First" Integrated Marketing Program
The See Texas First co-operative opportunities combine print and online promotion to deliver branding and direct response throughout the spring and fall. The program includes a high-impact newspaper insert targeted to select households in Texas and contiguous states that provides TTIA members with direct access to travelers. Typically, the program generates in excess of 300,000 responses. Written in "advertorial" form, the insert allows participants to send exactly the message they want. A response card generates direct inquiries from potential visitors. A bonus distribution goes to AAA travel advisors. In addition, Vacationfun.com visitors & subscribers receive eBlasts and eZines that reach best-match subscribers who have asked to receive ongoing travel updates.
