2010 TTIA Rising Star Award

Nominations must be postmarked by July 31, 2010.

Please read the following criteria before submitting the nomination form to the TTIA office.

Eligibility:

Must be a TTIA member or an employee of a TTIA member organization
Must be 35 or under
Must not be the chief executive officer of the organization
Must have worked in the travel and tourism industry for at least one year

Nomination Requirements:

Nominee should be a young travel and tourism industry professional that a member organization would like to recognize for their outstanding accomplishments, and for their demonstration of leadership and commitment to the industry and TTIA.

Qualified Nominators:

To nominate a young professional for the Rising Star Award the nominator must work at a TTIA member organization.

Nomination and Selection Process:

A nomination form must be received to be considered for this award. Nominees will be contacted after TTIA receives the nomination form and any other documentation. Nominees will then be required to submit an essay or video (nominee’s choice) explaining why they chose a career in travel and tourism, and how they intend to make a lasting impact on the industry. (Note: The video or essay will not determine the winner of the Rising Star Award. The videos and essays will only be used to showcase those nominated). The nomination form and any supplemental information submitted by the nominator will be the only factors considered in the selection process. A selection committee will review those documents and choose a winner.

Nominations must be submitted on an official TTIA entry form with examples of the nominee’s qualifications. Nominations should be sent under confidential cover to the TTIA office in Austin by mail, fax or email and postmarked by July 30, 2010.

Award:

The Rising Star Award will be presented during the awards luncheon at the Texas Travel Summit 2010 in Galveston, Texas (September 19-22). Recipient will also receive a one-year scholarship for TTIA's Travel & Tourism College.
