2010 Texas Nature Tourism Achievement Award

Two awards are available:
1) TTIA Member Organizations
2) Individual Person / Organization (whether TTIA member or not)

Background: The Texas Nature Tourism Council (TNTC) is made up of members of TTIA that have a special interest in nature tourism. The TNTC steering committee is made up of TTIA members that have volunteered to represent the interests of council members and guide the council. The steering committee is constantly investigating methods to provide services and recognition to the TNTC members, to recruit new members, and to recognize the quality work done by nature tourism organizations and the communities that support them.

Award winner will receive the following:

• Framed Certificate
• Featured placement on the TNTC section of the TTIA Web Site for 1 year
• Featured in press release
• Award Ceremony at TTIA Texas Travel Summit conference

Criteria:

• Must be a member of TTIA to win member award
• Demonstrate support of nature tourism best practices, (i.e. those that result in wildlife conservation, economic well-being of local nature tourism organization employees, and support of local citizen quality of life.)
• Nominee Agrees to Accept Award & Post on their Web Site

Application/Nomination Schedule:
Nominations Open: June 1, 2010
Entry Deadline: August 18, 2010
Award Presentation: At Texas Travel Summit (9/19/2010- 9/22/2010, Galveston, Texas)
Placement on TNTC Web Site: October 2010-September 2011

Self Nominations are encouraged, because who else knows your activities better? If you are submitting a nomination for another individual or organization we encourage you to interview them to obtain as much detailed information as needed to share their good work in the nomination form.
