Securing Community Buy-In on Events:  Winning the press and public over AND involving community groups and transforming sponsors into partners
In this still less-than-stellar economy, generating attendance and enthusiasm for your event is very important.  Securing community buy-in is also critical.  Two strategies any event producer needs to employ include:  1) generating an abundance of positive publicity and goodwill for your event; and 2) getting community groups involved and turning your festival sponsors into partners – transforming them from "just a sponsor” to true partners – feeling vested and having a sense of "ownership.”  Learn how Mesquite has been able to do both, while utilizing its Real. Texas. Festival. as part of its Project Renewal revitalization plan to reposition the city.
