Texas Tourism Unity Dinner is the Texas travel industry's largest Advocacy event of the year and your opportunity to educate your legislators, local government, business partners and the media about the economic impact of the travel and tourism industry. Texas Tourism Unity Dinner puts you in the same room with people who make decisions that will eventually affect your bottom line, and your participation sends the message that Travel Matters to your community and Travel Means Jobs for Texas.
The story of travel jobs in
Texas – from the seasonal ride operator to the airline pilot – was conveyed
through a multi-media presentation during this year's dinner, including a brochure provided to all
attendees, signage throughout the massive Austin Convention Center, in a speech
by TTIA President & CEO David Teel, and in a video presentation featuring
traditional and non-traditional jobs in Texas’ travel industry. Click here for more information.

The Converge on the Capitol allows members of the travel & tourism industry to meet with state legislators and their staff to express the importance of this industry to the Texas economy, sales tax collections and employment. TTIA and the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association brought more than 800 industry representatives to the Capitol for this year's Converge. The message - Travel Means Jobs - was conveyed during these face-to-face meetings and to everyone encountered in the Capitol as each Converge attendee wore a lapel button with this message.
Here's what some of our attendees had to say about this year's Unity Dinner:
"It was the best Unity Dinner I have ever attended.
The message from the speakers were a grand slam."
"I'm new to the industry and felt a great pride to be a part of this."
"Travel Means Jobs and most people in our industry, as well
as elected officials, have begun to recognize that as fact."
"Excellent execution of a very complex and broad scoped event.
Always enjoy the professional networking, interaction with our
elected officials and with leaders in the travel industry. Great job team!"
