About Travel & Tourism College

Tourism professionals from across the Southwest convene for one week on the campus of Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas for an intensive curriculum of tourism marketing and management courses. This is designed as a 3-year program, with returning students taking 2nd and 3rdyear classes in consecutive years.

Travel & Tourism College instructors are university professors and industry CEOs who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. The schedule is packed from start to finish with classes, discussion groups and networking events.

Upon successful completion of the 3-year program, graduates will receive the designation of "CERTIFIED TOURISM EXECUTIVE" (CTE). TTC attendance is eligible for 6 TACVB TDM credits per year.

Whether you have been in the job for a week or several years, our Travel & Tourism College is a great way to begin or strengthen your knowledge of sales, marketing, communications and related subjects.

Tuition Rates
Full tuition rate includes course materials, a private bedroom or shared bedroom with private bath in a dormitory*, breakfast and lunch in the campus dining hall (unless otherwise stated on the schedule), and dinner on nights with evening events.
  • $900 - Early Bird rate
  • $750 - Early Bird rate (no campus housing)
  • $1,000 - Early Bird rate - Non-member
  • $850 - Early Bird rate - Non-member (no campus housing)

PLEASE NOTE: After June 12, 2013, Dorm rooms may not be available.  TTIA will contact you if you select Campus Housing and a Dorm room is not available.

NEW IN 2013: If you are staying in the dorm, you have the option of renting your linens for the week. The package will include two sheets, a blanket, pillow, pillowcase, wash cloth and towel for $15. If you opt to rent linens, please make sure to select this when you register.

OPTIONAL EVENT: Additional fee of $20/person required
Tuesday, June 18 - Optional Event in Historic Downtown Grapevine - Spend an evening in Historic Downtown Grapevine.  You will learn the powerful potential of cross-jurisdictional partnerships and product development, as well as, learn about the Glockenspiel Clock Tower featuring the Would-Be Train Robbers, Nat Barrett and Willy Majors.  You will have a chance to explore Historic Downtown Grapevine on your own and then enjoy a cook-out dinner with Winetasting at Cross Timbers Winery.                        
Additional fee of $20/person required (includes bus transportation, appetizers on motorcoach, full dinner, and Winetasting 101)  Motorcoaches will pick up at the hotel and TWU dorm at 5:00pm to depart for Grapevine. 

 
Cancellation Policy -Full refund until 5:00pm on May 18, 2013. 50% refund until 5:00pm on June 1, 2013. No refunds after 5:00pm on June 1, 2013. This cancellation policy helps us ensure the most accurate counts possible for the event. For questions about this policy, please contact the TTIA office at 512-328-8842.

If you prefer to stay off-campus,you are responsible for obtaining your own housing and breakfast daily during the conference.

*If you stay on-campus, you have the choice of a room with private bath or to share a room with a private bath. Please note, if you opt to share a room, there is no private sleeping areas. The room is one large space with two beds, two desk areas, and one bathroom.


NEW in 2013: We are offering an Alumni Program for those TTC students who have completed three years of course work and their capstone project. The Alumni Program includes special courses specific to Alumni all day Thursday, June 20, 2013, as well as the Thursday evening dinner event. Alumni are also encouraged to audit any of the courses offered on Friday for the Freshman, Sophomore or Senior TTC classes. The Alumni Program is $150.
