About TTIA’s Public Policy Forum

The full-day seminar will provide political analysis and insight into what we can expect during the next legislative session and how our industry will be impacted.

This is a must-attend event for all TTIA members. It's also a great opportunity to bring along some of the younger professionals in your office to educate them about the issues that are crucial to the success of the travel industry.

Evan Smith will kick off the 2014 TTIA Public Policy Forum with a keynote session on the political landscape in Texas.The elections are over, the teams are set and the 84th Legislative Session is just around the corner. What lies ahead for Texas - a big state with big politics, big personalities and big challenges? Evan Smith offers his keen insights and thoughtful analysis on the major players, policy issues and politics that will shape this legislative session and the future of Texas.

During this one-on-one, Mr. Colyandro will share his perspective on the upcoming legislative session and the top policy issues and priorities for Governor-elect Abbott and how those will impact the travel and tourism industry.

This panel will discuss their insights into how the legislature will successfully craft a state budget amid the growing financial demands of public education and transportation. They will also discuss the implications of the state’s budget on important state travel and tourism programs that generate economic impact, tax revenues and jobs.
