Travel and Tourism Research Association - International (ttra) - www.ttra.com

Founded in 1970, the Travel and Tourism Research Association (ttra) is a non-profit association whose purpose is to enhance the quality, value, effectiveness and use of research in travel marketing, planning and development. Our Association strives to be a leader for the global community of practitioners and educators engaged in research, information management and marketing in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. ttra creates business opportunities for our members and provides a unique multi-sector industry network. Members in ttra represent a variety of segments from the greater international travel and tourism community, including educators, practitioners, research providers/consultants and users of research.

ttra is a non-profit association, with the main purpose to increase the quality, value, effectiveness and use of research in travel marketing, planning and development.  The organization strives to be a leader for the global community of practitioners, educators, and users of research engaged in transforming, sharing and applying tourism research knowledge and practice worldwide.

Annually
ttra hosts two conferences in addition to numerous chapter events:
  • Annual International Conference held each June in a different chapter region.  The focus of this conference is tourism research methodologies and technologies.  Attendance is comprised of 300+ academics and combined practitioners and vendors.
  • Marketing Outlook Forum, held annually in October, focuses on travel trends and forecasting.  The conference attracts attendees from nearly all State and Provincial tourism offices in the US and Canada, international tourism offices, airlines and hotels, as well as many travel industry suppliers.

ttra-Texas is the Texas chapter of the Travel and Tourism Research Association. With Texas being home to a booming tourism industry, the state has its own ttra chapter.  Our chapter is comprised of members from across Texas that have interest in furthering tourism research to enhance future tourism development within our borders, and we welcome the opportunity to grow our membership.

The
ttra-Texas chapter works
  • To be a forum for the exchange of ideas and research for our membership by helping to bring together those involved in tourism research;
  • To serve as an organization that seeks to disseminate research and best practices pertaining to Texas practitioners and academics in the field of travel and tourism; and
  • To encourage the education of future members of the tourism industry and research community through opportunities for students, faculty and practitioners to present their travel and tourism research concerning the state of Texas.
