The Rising Star Award is presented to a young professional in the Texas travel & tourism industry who is recognized for their accomplishments, demonstrated leadership, and commitment to the industry and TTIA.

Must be a TTIA member or an employee of a TTIA member organization
Must be 35 and under
Must not be the chief executive officer of the organization
Must have worked in the travel and tourism industry for at least one year

Nomination Requirements:

Nominee should be a young travel and tourism industry professional that a member organization would like to recognize for their outstanding accomplishments, and for their demonstration of leadership and commitment to the industry and TTIA.

Qualified Nominators:

To nominate a young professional for the Rising Star Award, the nominator must work at a TTIA member organization, preferably at the same organization as nominee, although it is not necessary.


Nomination and Selection Process:

A nomination form must be received for a nomination to be valid. In addition to the nomination form, please include materials that reflect the nominee’s accomplishments and eligibility for this award. For example, you may submit resumes, press clippings, letters of recommendation or any other information you feel should be considered. The nomination form and any supplemental information submitted by the nominator will be the only factors considered in the selection process. A selection committee will review those documents and choose an award recipient.

For those who prefer not to use the online form, nominations may also be submitted on an official TTIA nominations form (PDF) with examples of the nominee’s qualifications. Back up documentation for nominations may be sent under confidential cover to Jennifer Roush ( at the TTIA office in Austin by mail, fax or email and postmarked by the deadline.
