Being involved in TTIA has helped me tremendously. It has exposed me to the leaders in the travel industry and has taught me best practices to improve our sales and marketing strategies. It is important to be involved with an association that is powerful and respected and has a great impact on public policies that affect our industry on daily basis. – Brenda Kissko, CTE, Midland CVB

Drew Holmgreen
Belmont Icehouse

I’ve worked within the advertising agency business for nearly 15 years. And for nearly all of that, I have helped lead advertising efforts for tourism organizations, including DMOs, hotels and more. Throughout my career, TTIA has helped expand my knowledge of and expertise within the tourism industry to benefit my own personal advancement and the successes I’ve been able to drive for my clients. TTIA has also created connections for me, establishing countless relationships with extraordinary people who are genuinely interested in helping further my individual success. – Drew Holmgreen, Belmont Icehouse

Elizabeth Eddins

TTIA has provided numerous opportunities to stay up to date with industry education. I always leave TTIA AnnuaI Summit inspired and motivated to put the information I learned to work in Beaumont. I completed 3 years of Travel & Tourism College and now look forward to the Alumni sessions. These events plus networking with peers and industry leaders enrich my membership in TTIA. –Elizabeth Eddins, CTE, Beaumont CVB
Trish Dressen
Abilene CVB

I came into the travel and tourism industry about six years into my professional career. I was insanely eager and passionate about marketing my town as a destination, but equally as thrilled to find an industry full of people from all over Texas who were not only just as excited and passionate about marketing their destination, but also creating a fellowship where we all push each other to succeed, thrive and grow. It’s been incredibly rewarding professionally, yes, and in four years I’ve already learned so much thru my membership with TTIA, but what I value most are the friendships I’ve made along the way. – Trish Dressen, Abilene CVB

Jayme LeGros
The Atkins Group

I have always had a passion for travel and sought to work for a company that shared the same passion; from there I found mentors who helped me cultivate my interest and learn more about it. The importance of travel is not limited to its economic contribution but bridges cultures and communities and helps develop new perspectives from which people can view the world. Through my work with TTIA, I get to grow this passion through continued education and partnerships that develop with other members. – Jayme LeGros, The Atkins Group

Being a member of TTIA, especially as a young professional, has many benefits. Along with introducing you to the high level executives in travel and tourism in Texas membership in TTIA provides a broad look at the impact of travel and tourism. I majored in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University. While in school I was required to complete an internship. My parents had recently moved to Lubbock so I contacted the Lubbock Convention & Visitors Bureau about internship openings. I completed that internship and after graduation was offered the position of Servicing Coordinator. I accepted that position and have been with Visit Lubbock ever since. – Amy Zientek, Visit Lubbock

Mike Chavez
aRes Travel, Inc.

Being able to network and find a mentor in the industry has been one of the greatest gifts. The TTIA culture of being open and sharing your experiences with others has made me comfortable enough to call my counterparts with questions and has also led me to sharing my own stories with new members. Over the past seven years, I have developed enough experience from the education learned, from Summit to Tourism College, which has help me advance at an accelerated rate and now working for a national travel and tourism company. – Mike Chavez, aRes Travel, Inc.

I’ve benefitted from being a member of TTIA for the simple, but important, reason of being able to network with folks in the same great industry. TTIA has provided a collective strength to advocate for and protect my business that I would never have on my own. Thanks to TTIA, I have had unique opportunities to speak with key legislators on issues critical to my business. Being a member has also allowed me to meet many people from all over the state that are in the Travel and Tourism industry and the opportunity to share information and develop authentic relationships – all of this strengthens my business.
