9:10 AM - 9:55 AM        The Texas Historical Commission: Where Heritage Tourism Means Business
                                        The Texas Historical Commision has many activities and programs that are
                                        dedicated to heritage tourism. In this session, you will hear about these types
                                        of programs. Some will be familiar, such as Texas Trails, historic markers,
                                        and Main Street, but you will also learn about the programs such as the
                                        Texas Treasures and Military Marker program that you may have not heard
                                        about, as well as, brand new programs that benefit heritage tourism indirectly
                                        such as the new historic Automobile Roads and Highways program and
                                        their regulatory work under the National Historic Preservation Act.
