Michelle BeckwithMichelle Beckwith, Regional Director of Catering, Landry’s, Inc.
Michelle is the Area Director of Catering and Special Events for The San Luis Resort. She is originally from the Houston Area where she began her career in food service 30 years ago working for an independent caterer.

Early on, Michelle was interested in the texture, color and flavor of the food she served. She originally wanted to become a chef, however, she was given the opportunity to work as a Catering Manager for Moody Gardens in Galveston. This changed the course of her career; she was able to use her creativity to create events not only with food but also with décor and entertainment.

She specializes in creating Destination Galveston Island Iconic Events for weddings, companies, and Galas. Recently she worked with The Galveston Convention and Visitors Bureau to spotlight Galveston Island as the 2018 Texas Travel Industry Conference at this year’s luncheon held in Fort Worth Texas. 2018 marks the 18th year Michelle will serve as organizer of The San Luis Salute to Mardi Gras!, a private charity gala benefiting the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston hosted by Houston Rockets' owner Tilman Fertitta and wife Paige.

Since 1994 she has lived and worked on Galveston Island. Community Involvement is important to her. She is a 1995 graduate of the Galveston College Leadership Institute, a member of the Galveston Island Rotary Club, on the advisory board of the Galveston Island Humane Society, advisory board member for The Ronald McDonald House and has served on the board for the Galveston Island Chamber of Commerce.
