Austin's Inaugural Give Back Gig - Join us for live music, bites and drinks as we celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week.  Meet Austin's Faces of Travel honorees and toast to their contributions to our industry. The Give Back Gig silent auction will feature one of a kind Austin-inspired canvases from Art from the Streets artists. VIP Admission $75, General Admission $50. The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum plans to have free admission on May 10 in observance of National Travel and Tourism week. 
Hosted by Visit Lubbock and the Lubbock Hotel Motel Association, the Live Love Lubbock Luncheon honors Lubbock's ambassadors and professionals in the travel and tourism industry. This year, the luncheon will be held at one of Lubbock's five award-winning wineries, Llano Estacado Winery, on May 10. The Luncheon celebrates the recipients of the Tourism Trumpeter Award, the Rising Star Award and the Heart of Hospitality Award. The Tourism Trumpeter Award is given to an individual outside of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry who has made a positive impact on the local industry. The Rising Star Award honors an individual working in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry who, with five years of experience or less, has established recognition, accomplished success and created positive change. The Heart of Hospitality Award honors an individual working in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry who, over an extended time frame, has established recognition, accomplished success and built notoriety.
The San Marcos Convention & Visitor Bureau is thrilled to honor and celebrate the many individuals who have helped make San Marcos a thriving tourist destination on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 with a Travel & Tourism Week Appreciation Reception. The reception will take place at San Marcos Rec Hall from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. At the reception, two exceptional individuals will be awarded special recognition with the Rogers Family Tourism Award and Rogers Family Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award for their continued dedication to promoting tourism in San Marcos. The award recipients will receive a limited-edition piece of artwork representing the Meadows Center, formerly Aquarena Springs. South Padre Island will celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week with a traditional picnic on May 10, 2017 at the South Padre Island Visitors Center, located at 610 Padre Boulevard, South Padre Island, Texas 78597. Leslie Blasing will provide entertainment for the event and refreshments will be served. Partners from South Padre Island and surrounding communities, including Port Isabel, Harlingen and Brownsville, were invited to participate. 
The City of Tomball celebrated National Travel & Tourism Week by staging its annual Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival on May 6-7, issuance of a proclamation during the May 1st City Council meeting proclaiming May 7-13 as National Travel & Tourism Week in Tomball, press releases to the media emphasizing the importance of tourism to the community and more. The Rails & Tails Mudbug Festival is a two day celebration of the tasty crawfish through live music, events, food, competitive eating and crawfish racing.  Special guest, TV's "Daytripper", Chet Garner will be on-site May 6th to meet-and-greet fans. Free admission and parking.  The festival is at Tomball's historic downtown Depot - 201 South Elm Street, 77375.
