Advocacy Programs ![]() TTIA and its members have been a positive force in helping to acquire sufficient funding for tourism marketing and visitor services in state government. In order to maintain funding and ensure that dollars are wisely spent, TTIA monitors legislative activities and informs the membership when action is required. Additionally, TTIA works with local communities to assist them in securing tourism support. TTIA acts in cooperation with other travel entities in the state to develop awareness of the benefits of travel and tourism and to keep the industry healthy. ![]() The Annual Texas Travel Industry Unity Dinner provides the Travel Industry the opportunity to show strength in numbers. Celebrating the importance of travel and tourism as a major growth segment of the economy, the Unity Dinner furnishes members with the opportunity to interact with elected officials and other major players in the industry. Held in Austin, the event recognizes the importance of the legislative process in achieving our goals. Education and Networking ![]() Held each September, Texas Travel Summit is TTIA's annual educational and networking conference. More than 400 delegates from the Texas Travel Industry convene to learn from state and national authorities on the latest trends and innovations in travel and tourism, discuss issues and ideas of importance to the industry, and network with other industry professionals. ![]() Travel & Tourism College is an intensive, week-long curriculum of Travel & Tourism marketing, management, and leadership courses held each summer. This is designed as a 3-year Certification program, with returning students taking 2nd and 3rd year classes. Travel & Tourism College (TTC) instructors are university professors and industry CEOs who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. The schedule is packed from start to finish with classes, discussion groups and networking events. Upon successful completion of the 3-year program and a capstone project, graduates will receive the designation of Certified Tourism Executive (CTE).
